News from Ellingwood’s Wood Corner:
Debbie Calderwood will be the lay speaker on Sunday, February 5 at Ellingwood’s Corner UMC.

Are you going crazy with cabin fever? Get out of the house and attend the luncheon and sale at Ellingwood’s Corner UMC on Saturday, February 11, 796 Lebanon Road, Winterport, ME.

Ellingwood’s Corner UMC in Winterport is offering Thursday morning bible study at 11 am. Bring your own lunch. Ellingwood’s UMC is located at 796 Lebanon Rd, Winterport, ME.

Please Note: There will be no adult Bible Study on either Thursday 2/2/2012 or 2/9/2012, Pastor David will be away both days. Adult Study will resume FRIDAY 2/17/2012 at 9:30 AM.

There will be a worship assistant training next Sunday, February 5 before service at 9 am for new communion stewards and lectors. After worship, anyone wishing to serve as ushers and greeters will meet in the Sanctuary.

Worship Committee will meet on Sunday, February 5 at 11:30 am to plan for the Lenten season.

February 5’s SPRC meeting has been cancelled.

Quilting group is meeting the Fellowship Hall Mondays at 9:30 am to 11 am until further notice.

Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church youth group is hosting a All Christian Music Skate at Great Skates in Bangor on February 4 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Here is a chance to hear a variety of contemporary Christian music. Event is open to the public and all ages. Cost is $3.50 per person, plus skate rentals-$1.50 for regular skates and $3.00 for roller blades. Fifty cents of each mission goes to the youth group mission project. Winter Landscape Meeting Wednesday February 8th 6:30p.m.
Mark your calendars for a night of thinking nothing but spring and trees and flowers and the bees. Oh and digging and hauling and chipping and raking… I’m sure you get my point!!!
We are in the exciting planning stage for the grounds work that needs to be done in the up coming months at Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church. We are currently working on the parcel of land next to the upper parking lot. All ideas are needed in the planning of the landscaping. If you have ideas we want to hear them!
