Hometown Nazareth…Where Jesus was a Kid…VBS 2011

What was Jesus like as a kid growing up? Can you imagine the stories Mary, Jesus’ mother would tell? Join us in August in Nazareth, as Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church will celebrate this year’s vacation bible school (VBS) “Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a Kid.” We will start decorating the fellowship Hall on Saturday on August 13. VBS will kick off on Sunday, August 14 and run through Thursday, August 18. August 14 celebrations will begin with morning worship service at 9 am; decorations and set up for VBS will follow at 10 am; a cook-out will take place from 11 am to 12 noon, and VBS will run from 12 noon to 2 pm. VBS will run from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, August 15 through Thursday, August 18. VBS will kick off each day with an opening celebration and a hometown huddle where each of the tribes meets. Next participants will rotate through the marketplace shops, Mary’s house and fun & games. The day ends with a hometown huddle and closing celebration. “Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a Kid” offers an inter-generational experience. However, there are still some openings.
